The Great Indoors

Too small

Too big

I have had a request for more indoor pictures of New Zealand, which was an excellent suggestion. There is a lot more to the country than beautiful lakes surrounded by mountains. For example, faucets, of which two distinct varieties exist. One variety is too small to actually fit your hands under. The second variety is large enough that you could actually get in the sink and bathe. The problem is that when water falls for a meter before striking anything it tends to spray everywhere.

Interesting note: Hot and cold water are almost always separate (like in the too small picture). This means you can have really hot water and really cold water, but nothing in between. I prefer to burn my hands then sooth them with cool water. Some people like to freeze their hands, then defrost them with a hot blast. It takes all kinds, so they say...

More Signage

Mini fridge - NZD$250
Milk - NZD$5.00
Putting the two together - priceless

I recently noticed this sign in an exam room in our clinic - I do not know what it means. I spend a lot of time here hoping I will be bitten by a radioactive spider and develop super powers.

Life in Wellington

We recently visited the cable car museum in Welly, and it turns out our living situation is quite common - common enough to warrant a diorama in a museum!

Update!

Hello everyone!

We are finally back online after a busy couple of months. We have had multiple visitors and seen some incredible sights - hopefully we'll be able to share it all with you on the blog, so stay tuned for updates.

Our time here is winding down, my last day of work will be March 18 and we will fly back to the US (via Tahiti) on April 10. We will be trying to fit in as much as we can in the last few weeks! When we get back I will be working for three months in Sterling CO while we get things sorted out.
